The GOLD has an innovative design incorporating a single panel along the inside of pants and crotch and along the inside of the sleeves and down the side of the torso. The aim of these panels is to increase freedom of movement and to provide increased strength to minimize ripping and fraying. The gi also uses velcro binding in place of tie-up laces, ensuring that the gi won't tear during kumite encounters and making it easy to adjust the gi between points.
